Framingham, MA– In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, MetroWest Medical Center is reminding the community to make their annual mammogram appointments. Early diagnosis of breast cancer can greatly increase the chance of successful treatment. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), 4 out of 10 adults are delaying medical care because of concerns related to the pandemic. MetroWest Medical Center has the sanitizing protocols in place at its Cancer Center and Imaging offices to safely treat patients for their screening and oncologic needs.

“Each year, we take time out in October to recognize those patients and their families who have been affected by breast cancer.” said Andrew D. Harding, chief executive officer of MetroWest Medical Center. “We want the community to know that our compassionate Cancer Center team is here to support them beyond diagnosis and treatment.”

As part of a comprehensive approach to cancer care, the MetroWest Medical Cancer Center is a full-service breast care, cancer screening and treatment facility. MetroWest Medical Center and its Wellness Center both offer screening and diagnostic 3D mammography, which is designed for a more accurate breast cancer screening, and allows the radiologist to examine multiple layers of breast tissue. During the month of October, we will be honoring patients who have a scheduled mammogram in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
